End Grain Balsa Wood

End Grain Balsa Wood 6-50mm thickness is Kiln Dried and come flexible or rigid. It's Lloyds approved for marine, industrial and commercial applications.

Diab ProBalsa End Grain Balsa Wood is a naturally renewable resource. ProBalsa is a select, quality, kiln dried, End Grain Balsa Wood that is light and strong, and very cost competitive. The End Grain Balsa Wood orientation and micro-honeycomb structure give it exceptional compression and sheer properties.

Balsa Wood Core

Balsa Wood Core has a 6mm – 50mm thickness and is ideal for Marina and Industrial mouldings.

Balsa Wood Core is compatible with virtually all resin systems and reinforcements, and the majority of composite manufacturing processes. Balsa Wood Core has been well proven over many years as a structural core material for a wide range of grp sandwich core constructions in the marine, transportation, commercial and industrial product markets. In the Marine market, well over 3 million boats have been built using Balsa Wood Core.

Natural, environmentally friendly high performance core material for all sandwich applications.

A Sustainable Resource

Balsa Core is derived from a natural resource, the balsa tree which is found in South
America. The balsa tree reaches the end of its natural life after 6 years and is then ready
for harvest. The 25 metre tree is milled, kiln dried, density approved and then assembled
into blocks for the transformation into Balsa Core. Balsa Core is natural, environmentally
friendly and the most ecological resource for a core material.

Ecological Production

Balsa Core is processed from raw Balsa wood into the finished product at state of the art
premises in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Dura Composites works with suppliers to ensure
ecological harvesting of balsa trees. Importantly, a sustainable re-planting programme is
followed to preserve the future of this amazing natural resource.

Incredible Performance

Balsa Core is a high performance core material that is suited to a wide range of
applications. The micro honeycomb structure helps to provide incredible levels of
compressive, tensile and shear strength. The composition also provides the product with
high thermal and sound insulation as well as high fatigue resistance.

Range of Applications

Balsa Core is well proven in a variety of applications and is used worldwide by major GRP
manufacturers in Marine, Transport, Industrial, Military and Agricultural applications when
high strength and low weight mouldings are required.
